FOOD OF THE MONTH
Right inside our building's entry stands a food cart - collecting food to help folks who are working but barely able to get by, facing illness and can use some assistance, and even homeless. The food that we collect is distributed through ARCS, Midnight Run, The Sharing Community (through Greenburgh Interfaith Caring Community), and Westhab. Each month, we select another food to collect, based on the needs of these groups. But, if you can't remember the food we are currently collecting when you shop, don't let that stop you - we will take any non-perishable food, provided it is not expired or about to expire; food pantries are inspected perodically and if they have items that are beyond their expiration dates, the pantries are cited for being in violation of the health.

LET'S READ
Ann Zeliger takes the gently-used books you have contributed and they distributes them to children in two New York City schools, enabling these kids to have their very own books.

SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE
WCT continues to SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE with Saunders High School by donating high school study aids and test preparation materials, as well as college guides. Exam season is heading toward its spring frenzy, so keep in mind that your used books can be recycled. When your family has finished exams, please bring your Regents, SAT, AP, and other books to the temple. We will pass them along to the library at Saunders for use by its students. It may seem like a small contribution, but it is a boost for kids who can't buy their own. (Thanks so much to Maxine Howard for keeping this much needed project going.)
