| WCT SOCIAL ACTION FUND
Donations to the Social Action/Tzedakah Fund make all of Woodlands' social action activities possible. While we welcome (and need!) donations from everyone, the Fund is a great way for those who may not have the time to participate in the activities, themselves, to support tikkun olam. Checks should be made payable to Woodlands Community Temple and have "Social Action", "Environmental Task Force", or "Domestic Abuse Task Force" on the memo line. |

As we attend to the many crises in the world, it is easy to forget that there are people right here in Westchester who are living in poverty. TheSe are the working poor who barely get by and need our help. An effective way in which to provide this help is through Food PATCH, Westchester County’s food bank, which is seeking financial donations for two specific areas: (1) The Food-Patch Emergency Food Distribution Fund, which provides hunger relief agencies in Westchester County that collectively need 43,500 pounds of additional food per week to fight hunger. Relief is provided to the working poor - seniors, women and their children of Westchester County who would otherwise go hungry; (2) "Dig In Against Hunger" , a campaign to construct a new home that will increase its capacity to meet the needs of Westchester's hungry residents. The new facility will enable Food-PATCH to accept the trucks that would bring an additional 2.3 million pounds of food per year. You can find a donation form on our Social Action table, or visit www.foodpatch.org . | |
