HIGH HOLY DAY FOOD VAN VOLUNTEERS: WE NEED YOUR HELP! The High Holy Day Food Van needs adults and kids, 6th grade and older, in half-hour shifts to receive, and sort food. Kol Nidre, 9/17, 7:30 – 9:30 PM, and Yom Kippur, 9/18, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, except 11:00 – 11:30 and 3:00 – 3:30. Please contact Sandi Lieb-Geiger at 674-9377 or sandi.LG@gmail.com to sign up, and please indicate your date/time preference giving several times you might be available so we can find a time for you. If you are available 9/19 or 9/20 to help deliver food please let us know. DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR NEW, NON-PERISHABLE FOOD TO THE VAN DURING YOM KIPPUR. |

DOMESTIC ABUSE TASK FORCE: Hope's Door just opened its door to a woman 8 1/2 months pregnant who arrived with only the clothes on her back. They are looking for donations of a bassinet and/or baby items; clothes, towels, bottles, etc. Please contact Crystal at 1-888-438-8700, or email at krysanne1@optonline.net, or email DATF at Domesticabuse@WCT.org as to where to bring the donations.
One of the families we helped transition out of Hope's Door is in need of extensive car repairs and does not have the money to cover them. We are collecting the money to fund the repairs. Please send checks to WCT and put Domestic Abuse Task Force in the subject line. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. |

BREAKFAST RUN: Join us Sunday, September 12th at 6:45am to serve breakfast to those less fortunate in NYC. Please contact us at MidnightRunBreakfasts@wct.org to donate food, juice boxes, water, clothing, new underwear or toiletries. It is an experience you won’t regret. Please buy your bagels and donuts at Sunshine Bagel & Donut in Ardsley as they supply the bagels and donuts we use. |

ENVIRONMENTAL TASK FORCE: BAMBOO SUKKAH: ETF is looking for volunteers to help assemble the bamboo Sukkah. Please email us for details at Environmental@wct.org. FREE FILM SCREENING: Food Inc. - Sunday, September 26th at 2pm - Screening and Refreshments! How much do we know about the food we buy at the supermarket and serve our families? See the film and learn more! RECYCLING BOTTLE CAPS: In partnership with Aveda, Woodlands will continue to collect the twistable clean bottle caps. Check out the Social Action Website under Environmental for details. The following types of caps are NOT acceptable: Metal, Non-twist milk caps, caps from prescription medications or flexible tops (like sour cream/yogurt). If we continue to receive these caps, the collection will have to be discontinued. Thanks for your cooperation! |
