At Woodlands, our focus is on teaching what it means to be a Jew in the modern world. We believe that Jewish learning doesn’t end at age 13, and our kids (and adults) agree.
Our nationally recognized religious school begins with our monthly pre-K Temple Tots program, then moves from Kindergarten to B’nai Mitzvah training and on through Confirmation and Graduation. Our students explore their relationship to the Torah and its implications for their daily lives. They learn the Hebrew of the synagogue service, study Jewish history and ideas, and learn to love being Jewish.
Our students in grades 8-12 attend our unique Monday Night Academy, a hugely successful program that annually enrolls more than 125 kids. The 10th grade Confirmation class studies directly with the rabbi.
Woodlands also offers dozens of popular adult education programs and classes each year. Subjects run from explorations in Torah to timely cultural issues. We even offer cooking classes. And our Daytime Diversions program offers an array of weekday programs ranging from current events to movies to advice on legal matters.
All of our educational programs teach the importance of tikkun olam, helping God fix this world, and emphasize the principle of tzedakah as a Jewish obligation. At Woodlands, we recognize that Judaism means the most when it is translated into action.
